- VOLKSWAGEN is launching an‘Ultimate Family Hero’ digital campaign by DDB UK, to advertise its Touran and Sharan multi-purpose vehicle models. The campaign, a competition, invites consumers to write a description of a family member they believe to be a hero, and to upload an image to be used in a mock comic book. The finalists will go through several challenges, including driving the car models, and their videos will be streamed for public vote from 11 October. - VOLKSWAGEN has launched a website by DDB as part of the car company's "unbelievable value" campaign. The site, supported by a nation-wide poster and press activity, features a miniature village with miniature inhabitants. Site users can make decisions in the village, such as where they go on holiday and where they live, which will be added up to a total life cost and may be shared with friends on Facebook. The website highlights the savings to be made by choosing a Volkswagen over another car brand, with a voiceover stating: "you need to think beyond the purchase price to see the bigger picture" 09 Sep 2010 00:00
- FALLON has hired former BBC marketing head Gail Gallie to the role of chief executive following the departure of agency founders Laurence Green and Richard Flintham. Fallon partner Magnus Djaba has been promoted to managing director while Gareth Goodall, Katrien de Bauw and Augusto Sola have been made partners.
